Eligibility
Participants for International Conferences in India may note that they should apply only for Conference visas and not for any other category of visa.
Single Entry Conference Visa up to one month stay can be granted for participation in International Conferences/Seminars in India
Conference Visa is issued to attend International Conference, Seminar or Workshop in India. It is usually issued for duration of the conference. Single Entry Conference Visa up to one month stay can be granted for participation in International Conferences/Seminars in India. Visa will only be issued on receipt of necessary clearances.
Required Documents
Conference Visa covers symposium, seminar, summit, workshop, congress, etc. (Application for Conference Visa to be issued at least two weeks prior to the date of travel)
- Visa Application form (No column to be left unfilled) duly signed along with photograph pasted at the designated space
- Copy of the Passport
- Copy of the Chinese ID
- Original/Fax/Scanned copy of invitation letter from the host organization in India
- Original letter from the company/organization of applicant with official seal and signature
- Conference clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs of India
- Political Clearance for the Conference from Ministry of External Affairs of India
- Copy of confirmed air ticket
- Bank Guarantee Certificate of minimum amount of RMB 1,00,000 or last 6 months of bank statement showing a minimum balance of RMB 1,00,000
Procedure for submitting a VISA application:
- Submission of all relevant documents mentioned in the checklist on the website is important for acceptance of the visa application at the Embassy.
- It is a mandatory requirement to ensure that your photo is 2 inch x 2 inch (51mm x 51mm) in size with white background. Photos which do not meet this specification will not be accepted.
Note:
- A foreign National intending to attend an International Conference/Seminar/workshop while already in India on business/Employment/Student/Research Visa may seek prior permission of the FRRO/FRO concerned.
