Port of Entry

eVisa can be used to enter through these following designated ports: 

1. Wattay International Airport (Vientiane Capital)
2. Lao – Thai Friendship Bridge I (Vientiane Capital)
3. Luang Prabang International Airport (Luang Prabang)
4. Lao – Thai Friendship Bridge II (Savannakhet Province)
5.  Pakse International Airport (Champasack Province)

At the Arrival Port

As soon as you arrive in Laos with the eVisa approval letter, follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Go to the Immigration area and enter the dedicated eVisa lane.
2. Present your passport and eVisa Approval Letter to the Immigration officer.
3. Get the final Immigration approval and enter Laos.

Document Information

If you are applying for the eVisa, you have to upload the following documents:

1. Photograph size 4x6 cm (have been taken no longer than 6 months) (6个月内的4X6厘米白底彩色照片)
2. Passport cover page（护照封面扫描）
3. Passport bio page（护照信息页面）(180天以上有效期）
4. Additional documents may require（其他相关材料）

Note: Please upload the photo of your passport that covers the whole bio page including its MRZ (two lines at the bottom of the page)

Photograph Specifications

The size of the photograph must be 4x6 cm, as per ICAO Standard photograph:

Your visa application photograph must meet certain criteria regarding size and content. Submitting photos that do not meet these criteria can delay the visa application process. If your photo does not meet the requirements, you will have to provide new photographs before your application can be processed. 

Processing Time

The processing time of the eVisa is usually 03 working days after submitting the application and pay the visa fee, provided that all information supplied by applicants meets the criteria and accepted by the Lao Government Authorities, otherwise the processing time could be longer.

Laos Visa for different nationalities

Laos has different visa policies for passport holders from different countries. Read on to find out if you can enjoy a visa-free policy, apply for a visa on arrival or an eVisa, or need to apply for a visa in advance.

• 30 days visa-free: Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam
• 15 days visa-free or 30 days eVisa: Japan, Luxembourg, Switzerland
• 14 days visa-free or 30 days eVisa: Brunei, Myanmar
• 30 days visa on arrival or eVisa: Other countries and regions (excluding the countries listed below)
• Passport holders from the following countries need to apply for a visa in advance and cannot apply for an eVisa: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, DR Congo, Eswatini, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Mozambique, Nauru, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sudan, Suriname, Syria, Tonga, Zambia, Zimbabwe
