Day 1 Meet Your Fellow Team members and Explore Hong Kong

Embark on your China backpacking journey today! Upon arrival in bustling Hong Kong, you'll rendezvous with your group and Adventure Leader in the mid-afternoon for a comprehensive trip briefing, unveiling the myriad experiences awaiting you in the coming weeks.

Next, prepare for an awe-inspiring introduction to Hong Kong as we ascend Victoria Peak to witness the sunset painting the skyline. Cap off your eventful day with a culinary adventure at the Temple Street Night Market, guided by your Adventure Leader to savor the finest late-night dining spots.

Day 2 Travel to Yangshuo

Rise and shine early this morning as we embark on our journey to the train station. Board the bullet train bound for Guilin, followed by a bus ride to your hostel in Yangshuo, anticipated to arrive in the early evening. Should you desire, seize the opportunity to explore Yangshuo and indulge in your first taste of local cuisine!

Day 3 Free Time to Explore Yangshuo at Your Own Pace

Today is a free day in Yangshuo, for you to make the most out of your time here. Why not try some of these exciting optional activities? 

Try your hand at cooking up some traditional Chinese foods, at a friendly culinary institute. 

Enjoy kayaking among the mountains along the Li River! 

Experience some relaxing Chinese traditional therapies – like Hot Cupping! 

Day 4 Cycling Trip Around Yangshuo and Bamboo Rafting

Today, your adventure begins with an unmissable bike ride around the local area, followed by a delightful cruise down the Yulong River on bamboo rafts. While you're taking in the breathtaking scenery, don't forget to protect your camera – make sure it's waterproof to capture these incredible moments.

In the afternoon, you have the option of visiting the Moon Hill complex, where you can indulge in some relaxation and adventure. Here, you'll discover mud baths and hot springs, offering a unique way to unwind.

As the day comes to an end, you can choose to join your fellow travelers for some evening fun out in the local area. It's a perfect way to cap off a day full of exciting experiences.

Day 5 Try Rock Climbing and Experience Rural Life in Yangshuo

This morning, you have the option to embark on a thrilling rock climbing adventure. The region's stunning limestone peaks provide the perfect backdrop for scaling these natural wonders, offering you a unique opportunity to appreciate the breathtaking landscapes.

Later in the day, you can choose to join your Adventure Leader and gain insight into rural life in China. Head to a local village where you'll discover what it's like to live and work on a farm in the picturesque Yangshuo region. It's a chance to connect with local culture and experience the authentic side of China.

Day 6 Travel to Chengdu

Say goodbye to your Adventure Leader in Yangshuo as you prepare for the last leg of your 9-day China tour – Chengdu! You'll journey across the country by train, and upon arrival, your new Adventure Leader will welcome you and assist you with checking in at your hostel in Chengdu.

Day 7 See Giant Pandas at the Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center

This morning, prepare for a once-in-a-lifetime experience as you embark on a visit to the Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center. Here, you'll learn about the Center's vital mission of breeding and reintroducing pandas into their natural habitat. Although you won't have the chance to hold the pandas, you'll get up close and gain invaluable insights into these remarkable creatures.

Following your panda encounter, it's time to enhance your Chinese language skills. Your Adventure Leader will guide you through a Mandarin lesson, equipping you with key phrases to make the most of your time in China.

If you're keen to delve into China's historical culture, you have the option to attend a traditional Sichuan opera show in the evening, offering a unique perspective on the country's rich heritage.

Day 8 Free time in Chengdu and Try Sichuan Hot Pot... If You Dare!

You have the flexibility to plan your day today. If you're interested in joining optional activities, consider a trip to Leshan, where you'll encounter the world's largest stone Buddha. Carved into the side of Mt. Lingyun, this colossal statue, over 1,300 years old, is considered one of the tallest pre-modern statues. The site draws millions of visitors annually, including Buddhist pilgrims, making it a sacred and ancient wonder of the world.

In the evening, you can take on the challenge of sampling the famous Sichuan Hot Pot (if you dare!). Afterward, the rest of the evening is yours to explore the vibrant city of Chengdu.

Day 9 Say Farewell to Your Fellow Team members!

If you're keen on having a leisurely morning, you can start your day at your own pace. However, if you're interested in engaging with the local community, consider visiting a rehabilitation centre that specializes in working with children with autism.

In the early afternoon, take one final look at Chengdu with a visit to Jinli & Chengdu People’s Park. This park features many scenic spots, including the Gold Water Stream, Goldfish Island, and the Potted Landscape Garden. Visitors can appreciate the charming landscape, take a boat ride on the artificial lake, enjoy tea in the lakeside teahouse, and watch various exhibitions and performances on Rockery Square.

This afternoon, your 9-day China tour comes to an end. Bid farewell to your fellow Team members as it's time to head home.
